Tragedy struck Ikeja Lagos yesterday when an Associated
Airline chartered plane carrying the dead body of former Ondo State Governor,
Olusegun Agagu lost control shortly after take off and crashed near Sahara oil
tank farm, plunging the bereaved family and its well-wishers into another form
of sorrow yesterday.
According the plane manifest, there were 20 people onboard
including the crew. While the remains of the ex goverbor Olusegun Agagu is said
to be intact, The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Deji Falae and
a staff in the Protocol Department of the Governor’s office, Mr Layi Daji
lost their lives in the unprecedented crash. Also on board were Mr
Tunji Okusanja Jr and his father, Tunji Okusanja. And in case you don’t know,
The Okusanja family owns the MIC Caskets, a popular funeral
undertakers in Lagos Island, and one of their employees Chijioke Duru,
also died in the crash.
