FRSC To Start Arresting Vehicles That Have No Speed Limiter Device Installed On Them In Nigeria!

Today marked history in the Nigerian road safety regulations, as the FRSC has taken a step further to enforce the installation of speed limiting devices on all vehicles plying the Nigerian roads, starting with public transport operators.

This was made public at a FRSC organized programme tagged: 2nd Stakeholders Forum on Speed Limiting Device Enforcement In Nigeria, held at The Banquet Hall, Sheraton Hotels & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos State today.

During his official presentation, the FRSC boss, Corps Marshal Osita Chidoka, OFR, emphasized on the numerous benefits of enforcing the installation of speed limiters on vehicles plying Nigerian roads. He further called on all stakeholders in the transport sector- from NUPENG, NURTW, RTEAN, LUBOAN, NARTO, PTD, VIO, LAMATA, LASTMA, etc to please cooperate and join FRSC in enforcing this new law.

The occasion was graced with so many dignitaries and top players in the Nigerian transport sector, including the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Transport, Lagos State, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, and a host of other transport industry giants, including the MD/CEOs of- ABC Transport Plc, Mr. Frank Nneji, CHISCO Transport, God Is Good Motors, Dangote Transport, Nigeria Brewery Plc, Golden Penny Transport of Flour Mills, etc.

This to me is a commendable move by the FRSC towards curtailing the high rate of road accidents in Nigeria, especially now that we are approaching the heat of ember months.

Stay safe, don’t drive if you are drunk, don’t drink if you will drive, and remember that: OVERSPEEDING KILLS!!!
