Cardinal Jorge Mario-Bergoglio From Argentina Is The New Pope

VATICAN CITY- Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, 76, of Argentina was announced as the new pope Wednesday after white smoke emerged from the roof of the Sistine Chapel, and the bells of St. Peter's Basilica pealed, signalling that cardinals had chosen a new pope to lead the troubled Roman Catholic Church after only five ballots. The new pope will be known as Pope Francis I, and he is from Argentina but of Italian decent...we wish him a healthy successful reign!

The 76-year-old Mario Bergoglio, was a runner up to Pope Benedict XVI eight years ago, and he is the son of an Italian man who immigrated to Argentina some many years ago.
