President Goodluck Reverses UNILAG Name Change!

We could recall sometime last year when President Goodluck Jonathan in an effort to please the Southwestern part of Nigeria, otherwise known as the "Yorubas" by changing the name of University of Lagos, popularly known as UNILAG to Moshood Abiola University of Lagos, MAULAG. But he was wrong when he thought that the Yoruba people cherished their political martyr, late M.K.O Abiola, and would welcome the re-naming of the prestigious UNILAG after late M.K.O, which resulted to series of protests by both the students, staff and people of Yoruba. Now, in a recent news, the chairman of the university council, Prof Jerry Gana confirmed in Abuja yesterday that President Goodluck has reversed the name change, which means UNILAG name remains.
