Deziani Alison Madueke Arrest in London: One-Sided War Against Corruption?

The latest news trending on social network late yesterday, was the arrest of Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke by London Crime Police.

According to media sources, she was arrested in London on Friday along with four other Nigerians in relation to corruption allegations being investigated by the UK National Crime Agency. Meanwhile, Nigeria's presidency has refused to issue any comment on the arrest as at the time of writing this news.

But then, in as much as we Nigerians yearn and crave for a government that would stand firm and fight corruption in Nigeria without fear, we desire to see a non-selective probing or witch-hunting of some past political office holders who are not presently in tune with the ruling party, instead Nigerians will be so joyous to see a total, unbiased probe of all past corrupt political office holders in Nigeria, starting from those close to the president and the ruling party.

For instance, immediate past governors of Lagos and Rivers States, Babatunde Raji Fashola and Rotimi Amaechi are currently being accused of huge fund embezzlement by their successors, and we are yet to see or hear that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) invited them for questioning on the various money laundering accusations hanging on their necks, and to make matters worst, we are already getting whispers that the incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari nominated both Fashola and Rotimi in his ministerial list sent to the senate for screening.

Aside these two, we also have several other past political office holders in Nigeria walking freely on the streets of Nigeria and United Kingdom without anyone harrassing them or attempting to arrest them for money laundering crime, which begs for answers:

  1. Is Deziani being targetted because she didn't dance to the musical tone of some world powers?
  1. Is this part of the New World Order Russian President Putin is talking about?
  1. Is Deziani going to be the scapegoat amidst others?
  1. Are Southern Nigerians being victimised?
  1. Why the selective probe; can't we have an all-inclusive probe of all past corrupt political office holders in Nigeria, including those close to the president?
  1. Is Nigeria under siege by the Western power?
  1. Is there any relationship between Nigeria's crude oil, ex President Goodluck, Boko Haram, the ruling APC party and the western powers?

Truth can be hidden for too long, but not forever...let's watch as things unfolds.
