Calabar Creek Bombing: Can Nigeria Survive War From 2 Regions?

Fellow Nigerians, I greet you all. I read with dismay the manner and way we Nigerians post and comment on social media platforms, and all I see is a nation divided by tribe, religion and personal interest, yet we call ourselves one nation? I doubt we are one nation with the way Igbos attack Yorubas, and with the way Hausas attack Niger Deltans.



We really need to have a rethink.

I have also read on different platforms where some Yorubas and Hausas vehemently said without remorse that AN IGBO MAN WILL NEVER RULE NIGERIA!

This is what white people said about black man ruling United States but today, Barrack Obama is the president of not just black Americans, but white Americans and the likes...also, a Nigerian of Igbo tribe also contested for the post of the British Prime Minister, in which he nearly won; these are things the white never believed could be possible some 50 years ago....the same way, no one ever believed between 1966- 1969 that a man from the minority tribe of Ijaw will rule Nigeria and make every other tribe to panic, but Goodluck Jonathan did for 6 good years.

So before we make statements, let's all remember that we are not God and cannot predict the future.

It may appear today that the odds are against the Igbo tribe, and may seem like Igbo tribe cannot produce the president of Nigeria, but who can tell the future aside God?

Now, back to the reason for my post:

I am not against the present government tackling crime and corruption because they are both enemies of Nigeria and every other nation in the world, so I support Buhari's government's fight against crime and corruption without being biased about it.

Now to that effect, I don't think it was a wise and effective decision to add Niger Delta Militant war to the current war we are facing presently in Nigeria today because that will be too much for the new government to tackle effectively at once.

I think and believe that the new government would have focused on flushing the deadly Boko Haram insurgents first by channeling all our military might towards the fight against Boko Haram, and then when they have be subdued to a very minimal level, we can then march on to Niger Delta region to cleanse off the Militants in the creeks.

Let's remember that Nigeria is passing through difficult times now when it comes to economy and crude oil price in the international market is falling day-by-day, so where will the new government led by President Muhammadu Buhari get the excess money required to tackle two deadly militants in the north and southern regions at the same time?

I think the Akwa Ibom creek bombing was a misplaced priority and a wrong calculation.

It is not about tribe or whatever, but in terms of military tactics, we as a nation missed it this time.
I know President Buhari was a military general but that was in the olden days when military depended more on physical might unlike now that war is won by intelligence planning and strategies.

God bless Nigeria, God bless Nigerians and may God bless and grant President Muhammadu Buhari the wisdom to govern Nigeria well and take us out of our present misery into a better Nigeria.
