Nigerian troops who arrived in Michika,Adamawa on Saturday evening, have regained control of the town from boko-terrorists fighters after a fierce battle, killing over 200 insurgents, reports AFP.
It was learnt that, the insurgents came in their thousands from Uba Town and engaged the troops in a gun battle for several hours, which recorded over 200 casualties on the side of the insurgents.
“The gallant Nigerians soldiers were attacked from the back by the terrorists, but the gallant military men engaged them in a fierce battle for over five hours, without pulling back.
An elated Acting Governor of the State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, commended the military for proving that they were capable of flushing the insurgents from the two local government areas they had hitherto seized.
Kudos to our gallant military forces, victory is sure.
