According to unfolding news from Kano now, there seems to be
eminent crises as the Presidency is said to have ordered for the arrest of
newly appointed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. The Nigerian police have
been ordered to arrest the newly-crowned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi on
fraud-related charges stemming from his tenure as Governor of the CBN.
According to reliable sources at the Presidency in Abuja, the team of policemen at the Emir’s palace in Kano had received the order from the Nigeria Police headquarters in Abuja to place Emir Sanusi under arrest if and when he leaves the Kano State Governor’s lodge for the palace.
Already top northern leaders who have gotten wind of the
wicked plan have warned President Jonathan to avoid such a reckless action for
his good but the question is, will he listen?

Sources told Sahara Reporters that Emir Sanusi was to be
arrested at his private home on Sunday night after his appointment was
announced by the Kano State Governor but the move was frustrated. It would be
recalled that the presidency embarked on several frantic measures to frustrate
his emergence as Emir, including the premature congratulations by PDP to one of
the candidates before the choice was announced.
Since becoming Emir of Kano, Sanusi has been inside the Kano State governor’s lodge, receiving visitors and undertaking traditional rites.
