Iman and David Bowie : they first met in 1990. Bowie thought it was love at first sight. Iman was sceptical.
When she travelled to Paris, she met her hotel room filled with her favorite flowers from Bowie. On her return to LA, Bowie was waiting for her at the airport, with a bouquet. He didn't care about all the cameras and the press- she was sold.
Jake and Mary:
Mary was kicked out of her father's house for marrying Jake in 1948. Decades
later, they remain happily married
The Lovings: This
couple's story is probably the most popular as well as inspiring for all
interracial couples. I first came across their story on Hallmark- it was a
movie. They were responsible for making interracial marriage legal in America.
This was after years of running and battling with the law.
When the Supreme court ruled the ban on interracial marriages unconstituional, Richard Loving said, "for the first time in years, I can hold my wife in public without fear"
