In the last hours, microblogging site Twitter has been abuzz
with Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson and celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji over an
exclusive report on Linda’s blog. She reported that ex lovers, Yvonne Nelson
and Singer Iyanya are to star in a movie titled ‘The Ransom.’
A few hours after the supposed exclusive, Nelson tweeted at
Linda on twitter. “Pls be accurate with stories involving my name. Thank you.” The
actress wrote. “I haven’t approached Iyanya or his team for any of my projects
and don’t intend to do so. Thanks again.”
Linda swiftly responded; “You and Iyanya are not set to star
in a movie called The Ransom? What’s inaccurate about that? It’s not ur movie I
hear,” she countered the actress.
The aforementioned tweets however deepened the argument as
the two went harder at each other, with Ikeji accusing Nelson of wanting to
trend while the actress insisted the blogger’s report is false and that she
should quit playing mind games on her readers in a new year.
Speaking to HipHopWorld magazine on the phone, Iyanya’s
manager Ubi Franklin distances his team from Linda’s report.
“Someone called me asking to feature Iyanya in a movie and I
told the person my charges that if they are not paying, I’m not interested,
that’s all,” Franklin told us. “So I don’t know where Linda is
getting her stories from.”
Iyanya and Nelson’s relationship ended in 2013, with Yvonne
claiming the singer broke her heart. Iyanya was also rumoured to have dated
Tonto Dikeh after his romance with Yvonne Nelson.
