NICK CANNON is defending his wife MARIAH CAREY, admitting that “she didn’t sign up for” her ongoing feud with NICKI MINAJ on “American Idol.”
Even before the 12th season of “American Idol” started airing, an ugly feud erupted between new female judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. And despite them saying that they’ve ended it, the self-confessed musical divas have started feuding again—this time during live shows.
And what does Mariah‘s husband, Nick Cannon, have to say about the issue?
He said on KTLA on Monday:
“She didn’t sign up for that.”Furthermore, Cannon revealed that Mariah felt the tension early on and claimed she “tried to tell the network, like ‘I don’t think this is going to work. I’m afraid…’” and “has been taking the high road.”
He continued:
“She was like ‘I don’t need this. I’m doing this for the brand of American Idol,’ which she has been a fan of. This is going to turn into one of those reality shows.’ She’s like, ‘I didn’t sign up to be on Love & Hip Hop.’”Instead of blaming the issue on Minaj, Cannon pinpointed the show’s honchos for “perpetuating” the drama, seemingly to boost its ratings.
“But it feels like even the producers and everybody else want to play into the sound bites.”Given the unexpected turn of events, does Nick think Mariah even consider doing another season? He dished:
“I think if they get it stable, she might re-look at it, but she doesn’t want to be a part of anything that’s unstable.”Watch his interview:
Based on Nick‘s comments, do you think Mariah is planning on sucking it up for another season on “Idol”?
