Who Is Responsible For The Rampant Relationship Failures In Nigeria: Guys or Ladies?

It is so disheartening how western civilization and American lifestyle have overrun our Nigerian values and family norms, such that relationship between a female and a male is now seen as a trade by batter in which the female brings her body to the market while the male brings his money and material possession for exchange.

Nigerian marriages that used to be forever till death do us part now have a very short lifespan, shorter than the lifespan of an average chicken.

Phrases like these- “I can’t sell myself cheap”, “I can’t settle for less”, “he is not my class”, “I better cry in a Rolls Royce than smile on top of a bicycle”, “poverty is not my portion”, are now so rampant amongst the Nigerian single ladies, while phrases like “that girl got a hot backside”, “she’s just good for bed things”, “she is too old for me”, “she is not as hot as I want”, “she is not exposed,” “she dresses like a nun, I can’t marry that kind of a girl”, “she’s from a poor family” etc are now daily anthems of majority of Nigerian guys. Please my people, which way Nigeria?

Due to excessive western lifestyle exposures, a Nigerian girl of today can only accept to go into a committed romantic journey with a guy, after she had done several frivolous assessment of the guy, in which she would first weigh his pocket, the cost of his clothes, wrist, perfume and then the kind of car he is driving, and on the other hand, before a guy approaches a girl, he must have first ravished her with his devouring eyes; accessing how naked she is, and how many fake hair, nails and everything she is putting on, and even after that, he can only become serious with her only when he sleeps with her outside marriage.

In summary, the girls demand money, favor, and bring only sex into a relationship, while the guys demand sex and commitment, while offering only money in a relationship, which makes it impossible for most relationships and marriages to work.

The trend now is that a celebrity man must marry a celebrity woman just to appear like the Americans, and to please the media and their presumed fans, and a guy from a wealthy family must marry a girl from the wealthy family too, so that he or she won’t be seen as settling for less or going below class, and sometimes I keep wondering- where is the fun? Remember, the Bible made us to understand that each man or woman is not complete until he or she finds his or her other half (a spouse). In order words, the man must be lacking in something, which the woman must complete for them to become one, but in this present situation in Nigeria that we all wants to marry or date a complete person, how then are we supposed to be one in love and union?

The fun and joy of relationship and marriage is gradually going into extinction in Nigeria with the unscrupulous quest for materialism amongst the Nigerian ladies and the mad habit for premarital sex amongst the guys.

The fun of relationship or marriage can only be reaped fully when an incomplete man meets an incomplete woman and they come together happily to complete each other’s incompleteness to become one.

Sometimes I am left to wonder- who is the culprit in today’s rampant relationship and marriage failures in Nigeria; the guys or the ladies? Nevertheless, we can still trace our way back to our former root if only we can honestly admit that we have gone astray, or what do you think?

  1. The other way to get more Facebook fans is by rewarding the loyal fans that you already have.
Out of all them the best and most used one is to buy Facebook fans.

The more Facebook fans you can make, the more followers you can get, which eventually add to
    your growing clientele base.
