The President of The Central African Republic has abandoned
his country for a refuge in Congo amidst a bloody rebel coup.
The rebels released a statement spelling out the reason for
their taking over the country’s government, in which they accused the president
of failing to honor the country’s 2007 peace deal in which it was agreed that
the government would pay all surrendered rebel soldiers a certain amount of
money as compensation.
In a swift response to restore peace and to reinstate the
president back to power, the French government has deployed over 500 French
troops to the country.
