Igbo tribe is no doubt one of the most popular tribes in
Africa, and also the most ambitious set of people in Nigeria and Africa as a
whole. Often times, it had been said that the Igbo tribe have ancestral
connection with the Jewish Israelis, and there are atom of truth in the claim.
You may be wondering why most Igbo men hardly or don’t marry
Nigerian female celebrities, anyway, here are some of the reasons.
1.
Igbo men believe in acquiring their own wealth,
then getting a humble woman to take care of their home, while enjoying their
wealth. Igbo men are the most caring men in Nigeria- they can pamper and shower
their wives with gifts and material things, so they don’t like it when the
woman is the breadwinner, controlling, over exposed to the societal
immoralities and media, hence they hardly consider female celebrities during
marriage
2.
Igbo tribe have one of the strongest family
culture in Nigeria- generally, Igbo men of the 21st century don’t like
polygamy, even though they might be keeping several lovers and concubines,
unlike their fellow Yoruba and Hausa tribes that have a culture and that
supports polygamy. This practice can also be attributed to the fact that Igbo
tribe is the only tribe in Nigeria with a 99.9% homogenous religion-
Christianity, which condemns polygamy. In order words, Igbo culture discourages
Igbo men from marrying women who are so much exposed to the media because they
often assume that such women are hardly loyal, humble, submissive, reserved and
faithful in marriage.
3.
Igbo parents would rather prefer their sons
marry a girl from a known family, whose parents are of good reputation,
politically connected, etc than marry a girl who struggled to rise to fame
because they believe that such girl or girls must have indulged in several
affairs with men of authority to get to their famous or celebrity status, and
Igbo men hate being associated with a woman whom majority of men claim to have
assessed in the past.
4.
Most Nigerian female celebrities and rich single
ladies discourage men from wishing to marry them. Imagine how most of them keep
on posting their half nude pictures on the internet just to appear trendy and
sexy to their own future detriment. Again, the rich igbo men who are more in
number when compared with other Nigerian tribes, must have had an affair or
fling with most of the celebrities, during the course of their climbing to
fame, so you don’t expect a man to lick his own vomit. So to say, they know how
most female celebrities climbed to fame, and they know what most did to get to
fame, and hence, they wouldn’t want to keep such a woman as wife.
5.
Igbo men like their family affairs to be
private- marrying a female celebrity entails so much media exposure and gossip,
and this is one thing most well to do Igbo men hate, hence, their running away
from marrying female celebrities.
bullshit. You are overgeneralizing. I'm an Igbo man and I don't think there's anything wrong with a well trained Female celebrity
ReplyDeleteyes i agree with your comments about the spiritual needs of igbo men. Many women would like to marry an Igbo man but there is considerable delay in instigating marriage or even relationship... so igbo men are compelled to marry other nationalities. Right here in London, there are millions of igbo women into their 40's still not married because they thought they were going to marry an igbo man when they were younger. I feel sorry for the women into their 40's yearning for marriage and children; it is a serious problem and if i were those women, i would just marry a man from another culture as long as they can communicate, show love, good money management(saving skills), have good conversation. Also many women in UK are not conscious of the fact that in order to get a nigerian man (sometimes) you need demonstrate your ability to be around many people which unfortunately a lot of UK women are not. Uk is a lonely country whereby many people live by themselves and are hardly around people which psyche is not understood by nigerian people that come over to UK.
ReplyDeleteTrue facts abt an igbo Guy. Is he safe and can be trusted?
ReplyDeleteMost (not all) of this Igbo wealthy men got their money from human rituals, occultism, carrying and propagating the use of hard drugs, selling fake drugs and substandard products. And you say the prefer to marry a good, submissive, reserved women, those women will only end up submitting and reserving their destinies and that of their children to a cursed life. I pity your level of hypocrisy !!! Talk of pot calling kettle black.
ReplyDeleteVery true...
ReplyDeleteIgbo's are hardworking and mainly do their business through legal means. Forget about what this Igbo haters are spewing online to feel temporally happy with themselves.
In agreement with the writer, Igbo's won't like to have their ego taunted when they make it in life.
They will always go for an humble lady in his village or around the world to marry as a wife.
They hardly go for already made women BC of most reasons being stated by the op, and other reason like ego endangerment and like a saying two captains can't sail same ship scenario...
