In its effort to decongest Enugu roads of heavy traffic, the State Government has undertaken the dualization of the Zik Avenue (Phase II), Agbani Intersection Road and Akwata road which used to be the most congested roads in the city.
According to the Commissioner for Works in Enugu, Engr. Godwin Madueke the Zik Avenue project which spans 2.3 kilometres was awarded at the sum of 2.2 billion naira which includes a twin bridge across Asata River. The project extends from the rail line to Egbuna Roundabout on Ogui Road. The contract was awarded to Borini Prono and Co. (Nigeria) Ltd.

He also said the Agbani Intersection road was awarded at the sum of 2.8billion naira which includes the construction of drainages also has street and traffic lights.
