What Did PIERS MORGAN Say About DAVID BECKHAM That's Causing This Feuds On Twitter?

In recent star news, the boys of One Direction and British host PIERS MORGAN are currently in a Twitter feud over the latter’s negative comments about DAVID BECKHAM.

The British host has had many feuds with celebrities over the years—including a recent one with Rihanna when he criticized her hair, and the totally weird feud with Madonna that he said would only end if she apologized to him on bended knee.

His latest adversaries? One Direction!

So it all started when Piers tweeted:

“No serious top flight team would sign Beckham for football reasons any more – he should retire gracefully.”

When One Direction’s Harry Styles read the host’s tweet, he wrote back:

“Beckham is my hero.”

To which Morgan replied:

“Is that because he always runs in one direction?”

Meanwhile, Harry’s bandmate, Louis Tomlinson, joined in and tweeted his support for Beckham. He wrote:

“I LOVE David Beckham!”

Piers then tweeted back:

“Well sign him up for the group – bet he sings better than he plays now”

Within minutes, he wrote again:

“Can’t believe I’m currently being sledged about Beckham by TWO members of One Direction. Boy-band types clearly stick together.”

Harry then decided to employ the help of Simon Cowell by tweeting:

“Hiiii @SimonCowell can you tell @piersmorgan to leave us alone please? He’s being nasty..”

Though there was no response from Simon, Harry’s other bandmate, Liam Payne, also joined in on the fun by getting the hashtag #PiersMorganIsSmelly trending worldwide.

Piers then tweeted:

“So, #PiersMorganIsSmelly is now trending worldwide, is it? Right, @Harry_Styles @Real_Liam_Payne @Louis_Tomlinson – this is WAR.”

But despite the less than flattering trending topic and all the abuse from One Direction fans, Piers quickly learned that fighting with the British heartthrobs on Twitter had its advantage—he ended up getting 11,000 new Twitter followers in just one hour.

Not bad!

Finally, the TV host challenged the boys to a face-to-face rematch on his show:

“Let’s settle this on my CNN show when you come to New York @Harry_Styles @Real_Liam_Payne @Louis_Tomlinson – if you’re brave enough….”

No response (yet) from Harry or Louis, but Liam did tweet:

“No hard feelings stinky”

What do you think of their weird “feud”?
