Self Therapies to Common Diseases and Illnesses- READ and KNOW!

Mental Disorder, When our loved one is a Victim!
Don't get it twisted, Health is Wealth!

Mental disorder many not likely be discovered or diagnosed so immediate. Most times, it disguises itself in the form of either: change in: attitude, interpersonal relationship with others, moody behaviors. In most cases, family members misinterpret these signs as a maturity sign.
Most times, parents misinterpret their child’s attitude towards things like; food, sports or even sleep as a sign of maturity. But such parents are misinformed, because mental disorder might be apparent without immediate diagnosis or sign.

The mentally ill undergoes some unusual sensations which is only known to them. But for the fact that they lack the capacity and strength to look into their own condition, these symptoms live within their brain. imagine what Mr. James felt, when he returned from work and found his only son, Mathew, whom he left in the morning healthy and smart, tearing his clothes and hitting his head on his reading table, he though it was a dream, but came to realize it was real life, when he tried to scold him, instead he spit on his face, what an unusual character from his son, who hardly disobeys him. he made arrangements to get him tied, so as to rush him to a psychiatric hospital, it was at the psychiatric hospital that Mr. James came to know that his seventeen year old son was suffering from a mental illness for some months now, after reading a small pamphlet,’ Early Signs of Mental illness’ which the psychiatrist gave him.
“Jesus Christ!” James exclaimed as he glanced through the pamphlet.

Keeping a close eye on our loved ones should be a necessity, so that any inherence of these signs should draw our minds to seek for a medical treatment and advice.
Mathew is always moody, he hates to associate with his peers, he is always angry and likes to destroy things, he worries a lot and has anxiety in him, he fears to grow obese, as a reason, skips meal regularly. he hates to sleep, and each time he does, has a nightmare. His most usual discussion centers most on suicidal issues and death. He hates to face his challenges, both in school and at home. He hates to talk and stares at things so unusual and constantly. And many other signs which you yourself should examine and find out. Close examination of our loved ones should always be a routine activity and a habit in our life.
Make a short visit to a psychiatrist clinic near you and know more.

Are We Close To An End To HIV in Africa?

Modern medical researchers and experts have arrived at various drug combinations that now help the HIV infected people to live longer. Also various AIDS awareness programs have helped positively in most developed and in some under developed countries. But the
Question remains, do these efforts bring an assurance to an end to AIDS in Africa?

AIDS which is fully interpreted as; Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, which is caused by a virus called, HIV. What makes this virus so dangerous is the fact that it attacks the T cells, which act as a helper cell that activates the immune system to attack and fight disease and infections. It therefore uses this T cells as a means of multiplying itself in the body, thereby weakening the T cells, till it completely overpowers the immune system of the body. This makes it so difficult and so far, impossible to arrive at a medicine or drug that could cure AIDS. As a result of that, researchers and medical experts now resolve to finding a means of slowing down the replication action of this virus in the T cells. During the search, they arrived at the so called antiretroviral drug which is developed through azidothymidine (AZT).

Antiretroviral drugs are a combination of four different ARVs: Nucleoside analogues and the Non-nucleoside analogue which functions mainly to prevent HIV from copying itself onto the patient’s DNA. The second one is the Protease Inhibitors which inhibits the protease enzyme in an infected cell from reconstructing the virus and creating more HIV. Then the Fusion Inhibitors which prevents HIV from entering cells. These are the division of labor that takes place when one is under an antiretroviral drug.

These drugs are very helpful for those that are infected with HIV, but the most difficult challenge that infected Africans face is: how to get these drugs. Only 5% out of 95% of those that need these drugs received them. This is one of the great obstacles that most infected people in Africa face today. And this continues to increase the rate of infection of this virus in Africa, because antiretroviral drugs help to reduce the rate of infection of this virus, most especially from mother to child.

The issue of poverty and living standard is also a big obstacle to an end of AIDS in Africa. Most Africans, almost 70% are living in absolute poverty; they lack clean water, food and good environment. Where as most antiretroviral drugs and other AIDS drugs, need to be taken with pure and clean water, also, the patient needs to be on good diet. But millions of Africans can only eat once in a day or even none, and they also have no access to clean water. Many Africans are illiterate and can hardly adhere to the instructions given to them by their physicians. Whereas many communities in Africa today, lack physicians. Ignorantly, most of these people do not know that strict adherence to time interval in taking each pill as prescribed by their physicians, is very important, but many of them ignore this. Which most times leads to drug resistance.

It is also unbelievable that many to say, in Africa today, have never heard of this syndrome, AIDS before. Though many have heard, but never believed it, because they are either miss-informed or under-informed. More awareness should be made in Africa, if an end to AIDS must come.
Also some patent rights which restricts the production and manufacturing of low cost drugs, such as these antiretroviral drugs by some developed countries, is also a big barrier, since the average African man can not afford the cost of these ARV drugs, what hope is there for Africans to see the end of AIDS?

It is so unfair that most African leaders, do not care about the welfare and health of their citizens, but they care for their tax and national wealth. Africans can only see the end to AIDS, when their leaders learn to work towards the betterment of their citizens’ welfare and living standard, and also fight against the devilish spirit of war, then the end to AIDS will come in Africa.
