In case you haven't been following the news, a Germanwings passenger with 150 people on board, including newly wed couples, school children, entertainment celebrities, etc went down at a mountain, and investigations into the crash revealed that the captain of the plane left the cockpit, leaving the 27-year old co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz alone in the cockpit, who then locked the captain out of the cockpit and set the plane altitude to descend, causing the plane to crash into a mountain, killing 150 people on board.

Medical reports found at Andreas' home after the crash reveals that his personal doctor declared him unfit to fly a plane for reasons yet to be discovered.

This heartbreaking incident has awaken airline operators and stakeholders worldwide into seeking for amendments of cockpit rules whereby one pilot; the captain is allowed to stay at the cockpit during flight.

Airline experts are arguing that two pilots should be allowed to stay at the cockpit, while others are looking at a way planes can be controlled by people on the ground to curb situations like this.

I think, the idea of having a ground control of the cockpit activities, including locking and unlocking the cockpit door should be considered.

May the souls of the victimes rest in perfect peace, amen!
