'Why We begged Buhari to Re-contest' - Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Finally Reveals!

As the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) presidential campaign’s whistle stop tour of all 36 states moved to Abeokuta, Ogun State, yesterday, the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu revealed the party’s presidential flag bearer, Muhammadu Buhari’s initial reluctance to run in the elections, saying: "We begged Muhammadu Buhari to contest again."



Championing the cause of the presidential candidate, Tinubu continued in Yoruba: "Nigeria is challenged and we present to you a great leader who has the ability to think and do and equals to performance."Buhari is the man that can deliver because he is honest, he has integrity."

General Muhamamdu Buhari himself then took to the stage, reiterating his commitment to restoring security, power supply, and infrastructure.

He also spoke on the vital importance of reforming the Nigerian education sector. “Certificates from Nigerian universities must be respected throughout the world,” he said.The delegation was led by Buhari and his running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Other members of the party were also in attendance including the party’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the former Governor of Osun state, Bisi Akande. All were received by the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun. Hajia Aisha Buhari and Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, the wives of both the presidential and vice presidential candidates respectively, were also present.

The day kicked off with a courtesy with a visit to the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, and then proceeded to the Moshood Abiola Stadium, where party dignitaries addressed the mammoth crowd present.
