FG organized a Night of Tribute in Honour of late Prof Dora
Akunyili, which held yesterday August 25 at the International Conference
Centre, Abuja.
In attendance were- Anambra State governor, Chief
Willie Obiano, Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Elegant Stallion Onyeka
Onwenu, and many other dignitaries.
Late Prof. Akunyili funeral rites began on Friday
August 22 with a Christian Wake-Keep at her Enugu residence.
The funeral rites will continues today 26th
August 2014 with a Mass at Pro-Cathedral Catholic Church, Garki Abuja, after
which her body will be taken to her family home in Enugu and then to her
husband’s house in Agulu, Anambra State. Burial takes place on Thursday, August
28.
Recall that, Prof. Dora Akunyili passed on to glory on June 7 after battling with cancer. May her brave soul continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord, amen!
