EBOLA VIRUS Awareness Campaign

Goodmorning valued readers and fans, I bring you greetings and wish our Muslim friends happy Eid.

I just want to remind you again in case you have forgotten.

Lagos State Government has confirmed a possible case of Ebola Virus in Lagos State.

Treatment is on for the 40 year old Liberian suspected with the Ebola virus and a possible 30 others who may have had contact with him at a private hospital in the Obalende area of the State.

There is no need for panic said the Government official, who assured Nigerians that the hospital housing the Liberian has been cordoned off and the victim isolated.

This is my assumption: Whoever this person is that brought the virus into Nigeria, obviously sat in the plane (or bus as the case may be) with other Nigerians, passed through airport officials, entered a cab or bus into Lagos State.

So you can't tell how many people he/she must have come in contact with on his/her way into Lagos.

For our own safety we all need to be aware of the following necessary preventive measures to take in reducing or stopping the spread of this deadly virus in our beloved country.

1. Please have a personal hand sanitizer and use it as frequent as possible (like every 30 minutes).

2. Do not buy and eat any fruit directly without washing it first very well.

3. Try not to put your hands into your mouth without using a sanitizer first (finger nail biting professionals beware).

4. Try and avoid unnecessary hand shaking or use your hand sanitizer afterwards.

5. Unlike HIV, Ebola can be spread through contact with body sweat or saliva, so take caution when you sit in the 'danfo' buses in Lagos.

6. Stay away from eating any meat that you don't know its source esepcially our beloved "suya". Avoid eating any meat from apes (monkey and the likes) and prepare your meat yourself.

7. Generally, avoid having contacts with body fluid and bathe as often as you can after you go out.

Please spread information not panic by sharing with others but most importantly please stay safe and healthy!
