Boko Haram: 20 Disturbing Questions That Need Answers

There are certain questions that really demand answers in order to win this war...and they are:



1. When actually was Boko Haram formed?

2. What was the original mission of Boko Haram Founders?

3. Who are the Boko Haram- the marginalized indigenes, regionalized political elites, army officers or some religious extremists?

4. Who are the targets of Boko Haram?

5. Is Boko Haram of today still on the same mission their founding fathers had during formation?

6. Is there any foreign collaboration with Boko Haram- why?

7. Who are the sponsors of Boko Haram?

8. Where and how does Boko Haram get its military arms and wares (APCs, rocket launchers, etc)?

9. Where is Boko Haram base? Are they ghost without a physical location?

10. How do Boko Haram insurgents escape with their APCs, vehicles and motorbikes after carrying out hours-long attack on villages/communities without any military intervention or confrontation despite heavy military presence in the affected states? And where do they usually escape to?

11. Are there Boko Haram sympathizers amongst Nigerian military officers aiding Boko Haram insurgents by ordering soldiers under their commands not to confront the insurgents during their usual long-hour attacks on target communities?

12. Why do military checkpoints in the affected northern states disappear hours before any Boko Haram attack?

13. Is the heavy financial military budget by the Nigerian government jeopardizing the fight against Boko Haram insurgents?

14. Won't Boko Haram and its secret sponsors use the recent Nigerian army mass recruitment exercises as an opportunity to infiltrate the Nigerian army by pushing in their candidates into the army?

15. Will there ever be absolute peace and tranquility in the northeastern Nigeria?

16. Is Boko Haram insurgents a secret plot to overthrow the present government via military coup?

17. Is Boko Haram a blood money ritual for the top military officers?

18. What exactly do proponents and sympathizers of Boko Haram want? Are their demand(s) in-line with their actions/operations?


19. Why do foreign media get firsthand information about Boko Haram even shortly after any major attack- who are their informants? Boko Haram- western education is a sin, yet Boko Haram insurgents don't attack foreign media reporters, instead they even send their videos, etc to them to publicize, why?

20. Is there really truly religiously-inspired Boko Haram or are we just witnessing a complex political war and hate?

Until we answer these questions and more, Boko Haram war will continue to be a war against wind.
