It was recently confirmed that J.Lo would be returning to “American Idol” after leaving the show for one season. But since she and returning judge Keith Urban are the only judges at the moment, the show is in need of a third (or possibly a fourth) judge to round out the panel.
Lopez’s ex, Diddy, was apparently one of the contenders being eyed for the position(s)… but he reportedly turned it down because he didn’t want to work alongside his sexy former love, who’s now dating her backup dancer, Casper Smart.
After speaking with a source close to the situation, Us Weekly reports:
“The hip hop mogul passed on the opportunity because of his apparently not-so-ancient history with Lopez, as well as his history with Lopez‘s manager, Benny Medina. (Medina also previously managed Combs; they parted ways several years ago.) Ultimately, the Dirty Money rapper “felt it was a ‘her or me’ situation”… And producers went after her.”A rep for Diddy, however, says it’s “not true” that he turned down the show’s offer… or that he turned it down because of J.Lo.
