Channels TV sports presenter Joe Ighile collapses on set, and dies later!

I am aware you know the popular Channels TV Head of Sports reporting, Joe Ighile? Unfortunately he collapsed on set last two night while presenting the 9'Oclock live sports programme, and was rushed to the hospital. How did it happened? After introducing the sports programme of the day to be discussed, Joe told the crew that he was feeling uncomfortable and asked their permission to take a break, and that was his last TV appearance alive. Guess what? He stepped out of the studio for some fresh air and collapsed a few minutes later, and he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he later died. We learnt that he died at the age of 47, still young...sighs...

His brief profile: Ighile’s began his career in media from the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) as a content staff where he was involved in youth programmes in the early 80’s.

His versatility earned him a job with disc engineering Ikeja, Lagos where he was made the manager of broadcast in-charge of local contents before he joined Channels Television in 2003 as a reporter/producer. Joe Ighile joined Channels TV in 2003. He's survived by a wife, two children and aged mother. May his soul rest in peace...amen.
